Below is my example.
When I was a teenager working odd jobs I liked the idea of being a "Jack of all trades". Fast forward 10 years, I was living in New York City working 3 different poorly paid jobs barely able to afford my rent every month. One of my teachers reminded me about the ending of the saying - "Jack of all trades, master of none". That summer I decided to take a course on how to be a language teacher.
It's been 28 years since I took that course and I'm still teaching English language classes. But I have also been true to my desire to be a "Jack of all trades" in that I've had quite a variety of jobs in my field from classroom teacher to teacher trainer to examiner, among many others. I have worked in many different environments, but most of them connected to education. I have also worked with a wide variety of people.
The skills necessary for this job are: a full understanding of the systems of the English language, methodology, course and lesson design, how to use online tools, etc. Throughout my career I have participated in training courses and workshops in order to keep updated in my field. Currently, I'm interested in how artificial intelligence and automation have an effect on how we teach and learn, which makes me curious about how they will change the paradigm of education in the years to come.
wow! you have to be very disciplined to have 3 jobs, I don't know if I could. I am also interested in knowing how artificial intelligence will impact on education and communication...very interesting.
